CAPRI Transitioning Students into the Work Force
Transitioning the Student into the Work Force
Clifton, NJ- On May 5th, Capri Institute sponsored a dinner for the Bergen County Professional Counselors Association at the Upper Montclair Country Club. According to Bridget Damiano, Director of Capri, the purpose of the evening was to introduce the High School Program to the school counselors who are not yet aware of the benefits of such a program.
Capri Institute has successfully entered into an agreement with the Board of Education in Paramus High School, Ridgefield Memorial High School, Hasbrouck Heights High School, Northern Highlands High School, Glen Rock High School, Lakeland High School, Lyndhurst High School, Englewood High School, Passaic Valley High School, Saddle Brook High School and Indian Hills High School. Ms. Damiano is looking forward to adding many more high schools to the list before the end of the year.
The Cosmetology Program offers students the opportunity to graduate high school and Capri at the same time with the help of school funding, if available at a discounted price. Although school counselors are still pushing a college education, they also realize that not every student is college bound. There are many benefits for a student taking this alternate route including, but not limited to graduating high school with a marketable skill to join the work force.
The night was a huge success and enjoyed by all. The school counselors seemed to appreciate what the program could offer their students with the opportunity to transition into a difficult economy. Capri offers a quality education to students at a lesser cost than the public vocational schools which makes the program more inviting to the Board of Education and parents alike.
